Q. How does ZONES work?
A. The base unit or transmitter sends a radio signal to a receiver that the dog wears on a collar. When the collar approaches the transmitter, the collar gives a brief warning tone and a non-harmful tingle that startles the dog. The startled response deters your pet from entering the specified area. Veterinarians and professional dog trainers recommend INNOTEK Zones for pet proofing barriers.
Q. Will the tingle hurt my dog? Is the stimulation painful?
A. The non-harmful stimulation is an unpleasant tingle that is startling, but never painful. In most cases, the dog simply moves on to another area. The tingle then stops, as a positive reinforcement. Think of it like a dog moving out of the hot sun to a shady area. The dog will seek a space that’s more comfortable.

A. Your ZONES product includes the ZONES barrier transmitter, which is fully adjustable; a ZONES receiver on a collar strap, full instructions and an informational DVD. The system includes a collar battery, but you need to furnish 3 AA batteries for the transmitter.
Q. Will the collar work on my small dog?
A. The receiver part of the collar is about 2-inches wide and should work on most small neck sizes. The receiver is so lightweight, about the same weight as two golf balls.
Q. Will the receiver box fit on my dog’s existing collar?
A. Use of other collars is not recommended. The product comes with its own fully adjustable nylon strap collar.
Q. What type of signal does the transmitter put out?
A. It puts out a spherical radio signal that activates the training collar. The radio signal keeps the dog from going near the transmitter; underneath it, or going over it.
Q. What is the minimum and maximum range the transmitter can put out?
A. It will put out a minimum of a 1-foot radius up to a maximum 6-foot of radius. (A circle 12ft wide)

A. You can run an unlimited number of collars with one Zone.

Q. Can I put the Zones barrier transmitter outdoors?
A. The Zones transmitter is not waterproof, so it is not recommended to be placed outside.
Q. Is the stimulation level adjustable?
A. The stimulation self-adjusts. As the dog approaches the Zones transmitter, the collar will give a brief warning tone and a low-level tingle, which increases as the dog gets closer to the transmitter.
